Custom Home Office
Custom Home Office With Secret Door
This custom home office started off as an empty room with a lonely desk. Designing a home office requires more than just placing cabinets next to each other, especially in this instance. It is crucial to utilize every bit of space in an office when extra storage is a need. In this case, we not only gave them an office, but also valuable space to store extra toys. The design circles around the entire room and is a showstopper when you walk around the corner. It even has a secret, hidden door. We bet you can’t find it!
Crucial Visual Elements
There are many elements to consider when designing a home office. Storage is always a must, but varying the type of cabinet that you use for storage is key.
In this design, Blue Terra Design implemented custom cabinets of many different styles, most of which actually have similar functions. Varying the look of the cabinets helps guide the eye around the room as it catches new points of interest. Points of interest also brake up the large amount of white that is present in the room. Interest often comes in small details such as the unique paneling on each side of the window seat. Those finishing touches take a cabinet from looking ordinary to custom. We also added in fun elements such as a hidden door and a drawer that hides the printer. Finished off with polished quartz countertops, this design totally transformed the feel of the space.
This classic design suits the needs of this very busy family in many ways. It not only keeps them organized, it also makes them feel more at home when they work. The once lonely office now looks just as polished as the rest of the home.
